Welcome to the Emtotional Connectivity Podcast from Talent Management Academy.
Well, have you been outside? Have you moved around? Have you looked at things from the other side or turned them upside down?
Brainstorming in the fresh air.
If yes, then say thank you Dagmar, for her helpful ideas, if no, then go on, you can do it this week, too. Hahaha.
This week I would like to draw your attention once again to different behavior of you and of others.
The technical term here is Satir categories – Leveller, Blamer, Computer and Distracter.
“By the way, are there any cookies left?”…. Could be a phrase from the distracter. She or he often talks stuff in a fast sing-song. Often inconsequential and unrelated. Often people want to help you (the distractors).
“I don’t think that’s a smoking gun, I don’t have the scientific evidence or study.”
Yes, that’s how he is, the Computer. Objective, detached, he quotes and relies on logic.
Often he comes across as monotone with tapeworm sentences.
“It’s not your turn now, please keep to the order.” Who doesn’t know him the Blamer. Loud and hard
He is often very demanding and claims things or makes connections where there are none.
Where there is an Blamer, there is also an Leveller. Mediated, caring and agreeing. Quiet, pipy and without pressure is the voice. “Would have”, “would be”, ‘could be” are his softeners. He does not recognize his own value.
Now you have met 4 guys, where do you belong? How do you behave?
Make aware and observe, step one. Focus for this week, observe the 4 categories of Virginia Satir in yourself and others.
We at the Talent Management Academy wish you fun with this.
