Fear or love – that’s the question? That’s our today’s topic.
Actually, there are two basic emotions mutually counteracting in us. In so far it makes sense to have a careful look at this phenomenon and to make aware of the processes in our unconscious mind that motivate our actions. What kind of inner force is effective in your system? Where do you focus on? Take a moment for you – now.
What about your business life? Do you really like what you do in your job and are you satisfied with it? Or do you work in this position, in this company only for the money you get because you believe that you do not have options? It is just this attitude that is frequently shown by 50+-agers who are exposed to career disruptions in the era of digitalization. They may finally go into freeze mode believing “I have no other choice”…
Thoughts are not real, but they tremendously differ in the impact on motivation. If your thoughts are characterized by fear, then something is going on like “for sure, nobody will employ me anyway”. It doesn’t feel good, triggering resistance and fight and additionally, is not healthy at all for your self-worth. If you act out of love, then you will focus on interesting development tasks to foster your personal and professional re-orientation.
Be honest: Where are you still acting from fear, in which areas of life? Just perceive your thoughts and thus the emotions affecting you – without any assessment. This mindful pause supports you to just perceive what thoughts are coming across your mind and helps you to explore by means of something like an inner compass what resonates in you. Last but not least, helping you again to enlarge the space between stimulus and response so that you will be able to decide for a change of perspective.
And you mustn’t forget that you are not alone in the world, but that any behavior that you bring into the world has an impact on the universe. It is good to take responsibility and to decide in favor of love! Be patient with yourself and above all – be a role model for others! If you send love, you will receive love.
