Welcome to the Emotional Connectivity Podcast of Talent Management Academy!
“Tschakka – done!”
Let’s talk about motivation today.
In Rolf’s last podcast you heard how useful it would be for you to believe that you already have all resources in you. Here we go – let’s start from the following: How come you do not achieve your desired outcome although you are fully motivated and you believe in your capabilities? Of course, I am talking about things you can personally influence.
Let’s assume you are fully motivated – how do you continue? Maybe in the very beginning there is a kind of euphoria that has to do with “tschakka” … and what’s next? You may have experienced flow and you’ve found that no trouble. Wow – congrats! But what happens if you find yourself in a stuck state and you see no chance to find your focus? If your good mood seems to swing… you cannot do your sports as usual and with all the calories you’ve eaten you only lose weight very slowly… how does this impact your motivation?
In how far you feel irritated by so-called disturbances and what’s the critical correlation? Or do you catch yourself searching for excuses – I could not … because…
What’s the conclusion here? Obviously, with mere motivation we cannot get ahead. You are invited to observe yourself – here is my suggestion for the following week: Provide for “focus time” per day and consistently get yourself in a good mood. Make yourself always aware of the results you have already achieved and what you can still effectuate also in the future, if you really will. Keep an eye on your planning and how realistic it is. And last but not least: Stay tuned, so that you can give yourself a pat on the back listening to your inner voice: “Done!”
Have fun and happy doing!
